Convert Images and PDF files to Text Using Google Docs

Google Docs can convert scanned PDF documents and PDF files to text. The characters inside your scanned images and PDFs can be converted into text.

Google uses Optical Character Recognition technique to identify the text from your images and convert it to text that can be edited. Your PDF files too can be converted into an editable text format like .doc or .txt.

However the result of your scanned document may vary depending upon its clarity, the results for PDF files hat were created from original text files is quite accurate.

To convert a PDF file to text format like a .doc or .txt or .rtf, all you need to do is upload the PDF file to your Google Docs account and open the file. Then click on the File and go to Download as option. You'll find various options in which you can convert your PDF file. See the screenshot below.
