Facebook's Status Updates Character Limit Increased From 5,000 to 63,206

Now you can write long status updates on Facebook. Facebook has increased its character limit from 5,000 to 63,206 characters. Vadim Lavrusik, Facebook's Journalist Program Manager said, "In September, we increased the character limit on status updates to 5,000 characters. Today, we're announcing that you can now write posts with more than 60,000 characters."

So if you are a novelist and want to share your novel, you can share it with roughly 9 posts on Facebook.

A short infographic was also posted by him on his Facebook wall which showed how Facebook has increased its limit gradually.

However, Twitter has retained to its 140 character limit. And in Google+, you can post updates to a length of 1,00,000 characters.
