Difference between Domain Forwarding and Domain Masking

Domain (URL) Forwarding or Domain (URL) Redirection is the technique that allows us to serve a web page under multiple URLs. In Domain Forwarding, the URL is being redirected to another URL. For example, when www.abc.com is redirected/forwarded to www.xyz.com the visitor will see the content of www.xyz.com and the browser will display www.xyz.com instead of the typed URL www.abc.com

However, Domain Masking is little bit different from Domain Forwarding. Domain or URL Masking deals with hiding the actual domain name of a website from the URL field of a user's web browser in favor of another domain/URL. Taking the same example, when the visitor goes to www.abc.com the URL will be forwarded to www.xyz.com but the browser will display the typed URL www.abc.com .
