Passport Seva On Your Android Phone

The Passport Seva Project - Consular, Passport and Visa (CPV) division of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, has decided to bring the services for Passport on your Android Phone. Now you can get all the details needed for applying for Indian Passport on your Android Phone.

The Passport Seva Project is one of the largest projects of GoI which is being executed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). There are in all 77 Passport Seva Kendras across India.

With the view to provide easy access to public services, MEA has launched a Mobile Application 'mPassport Seva' to offer all the services to Android Phone users. Services like Passport Application Status Tracking, locating the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) and information regarding how to apply for a passport are obtained using the app.

At present, the app provides general information regarding how to apply for Fresh Passport/Reissue of Passport, Locating the centre near you, Fee Calculator for Fresh/Reissue/PCC and the required schema (Normal or Tatkaal) and a Status Tracker for your application.

In future, they are going to provide the feature to apply for a new passport.

Free Location Based App by MapMyIndia for Android, iPhone and Blackberry

MapmyIndia  has launched a new app for Android, iPhone and Blackberry users. The app, ShowNearby , you can search all places of interest near you. So if you want to search for restaurants, ATMs, petrol pumps, retailers, coffee shops or hospitals you can just power on the app and search for the services. The application is powered by India's most accurate and detailed digital map data from MapmyIndia. How the App works ?  ShowNearby app identifies the user's GPS location and displays the information on the basis of the distance from the location of the user. It also shows the address and phone number of the place the user wish to visit. The user can save the data in their phone and even share with friends via email or SMS. Updates - 7 can be found here Winter has approached. And as usual, I'm motivated to remain fit. Hope this time the motivation remains throughout the year. Have started running. However, it's a different story that I'm running less and walking more. But the important thing is, the needle is moving. Apart from running, have also started doing a few stretching and upper-body exercises . My initial goal is to complete 5 km run. Became member of Central Library, Gandhinagar and read 2-3 books namely, 1. The Palace of Illusions 2. Curfewed Night and currently reading Akoopar (Gujarati). In between I also read Chetan Bhagat's The Girl in Room 105 Rudraraj and Rivanshi are not here in Gandhinagar. So I can engage myself in Running and Reading. Lets see what happens once they are here.  Eagerly waiting for this years' Ahmedabad National Book Fair. This time it's in November (winter season) rather than May (Summer season). Reason: To reduce carbon footprint a
